Show Us Your Life - Books

Today is Show Us Your Life on Kelly's Korner blog. The topic is books. As a Media Specialist books are my weakness. I read all kinds of books but I tend to concentrate on a few genres.

Science fiction, fantasy, romance, and young adult fiction are my favorites.

Science Fiction/Fantasy

Anne McCaffrey - Dragon Riders of Pern Series - these books are set in a medieval type world where human "impress" telepathic dragon and eventually save the world. Her son Todd has been writing books for the series in the past years.
The Dragonriders of Pern

Charlaine Harris - Sookie Stackhouse Series - These are the books that the True Blood Series on HBO are based. VERY adult series about Vampires, Werewolves, and various other things that go bump in the night.

Young Adult - JK Rowling - Harry Potter Series - I love these books! She revived the young adult literature business!

Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games Trilogy - This is a brutal look at a post apocalyptic world where children are forced to fight to the death. It is soon to be made into a movie!

Cinda Williams Chima - The Heir Trilogy - I found this series of books several years ago. I fell in love with the main characters and what happened to them. It's a coming of age story filled with magic and good story telling.

I am always looking for a new series of books that my students will enjoy! Leave me comments about your favorite books!

Today has been an off day. After my breakfast of champions, we had Chinese for lunch. I had garlic broccoli, 2 cheese won tons, 2 fried shrimp, 1/2 egg roll, 2 chicken nuggets. We then drove to Greers Ferry. We stopped and I had a corn dog and a jr burger. We went to my nephew's ball game and nearly froze to death! OMG the wind and the cold!!!! I had some popcorn there. When we got back to my sister's I tried to eat some of the leftover broccoli, it made me so sick! I don't know if it was because of how long it had been sitting or what, but bad choice!!!

I was going to post pictures from the COLD ball game, but my camera has decided to go on the fritz. Any suggestions for a new one? I like a camera with lots of zoom and mega pixels but is very user friendly!
