Hard work pays off in the future, laziness pays off now.

This heat is getting to me. I can't think straight. Poor Blaine has been inundated with paperwork and we're both getting a little strained at the seams.

I have a kitchen that, if not cleaned soon, is going to come to life and take over our house.

I have no motivation to much of anything at this point. This poor house is feeling the brunt of my lack of motivation. I need Stacy to come over and talk to me while I clean. I do so much better if somebody is here to "guilt" me into cleaning and chats with me while I do it! Anybody wanna volunteer to come visit? The only requirement is that you don't judge, just socialize! I might even feed you (off of the paper plates and red solo cups!)

I know we're all ready for summer. This last month is a make or break month.

I found out today my Aunt and Uncle are going to be in Las Vegas the same time we will be there! I'm super excited! I haven't seen them since 2008 (I think)

I didn't post any of our food expenditures for Sat-Mon. It's not going to count because we were stressed and I didn't want to cook :-P

Friday night I made meatloaf.
1lb. 80/20
1/2lb. mild sausage
3/4 cup quick oats (I think it was a little too much)
1 egg
1/4 chopped onion
1 cup tomato sauce (I used ketchup, I didn't have sauce and was too lazy to go to the store!)
I baked at 350 for 60 minutes.

I also made SCRATCH mashed potatoes, and green beans almondine.

19 more mornings until summer!
38 more days until the family reunion!
57 more days until Chattanooga and Charleston!
73 more days until Flagstaff

I’m not perfect and I’m glad because I think that would make me extremely boring

Who knows the real me?

I am so many different people. Not schizophrenic different, just different for the people/situation.

I'm a ...
wife
friend
sister
daughter
cousin
niece
colleague
teacher
librarian
neighbor

Each one comes with their description. How many of these "mes" do you know?

Are you one of the lucky ones that I'm completely relaxed around? Who is the real me?

I feel like the Coca-Cola recipe. Only a couple of people know me. Even then they don't know everything. They may think they do, but I still keep pieces of me to myself.

I just wanna be me. I don't want to be judged or lectured about what I am or am not doing. By now, if I'm not how you want me to be, nagging me isn't going to fix it. There's is more than one route to the final destination.

Just because I'm not following your directions doesn't mean I won't find my way there.

Don't judge me, just love me.

p.s. the heat in the library is starting to fry my brain cells

“Ten men waiting for me at the door? Send one of them home, I'm tired.” - Mae West

My brain is tired. I've been helping Blaine with some of the typing for his end-of-the-year reports. My eyes feel like they are crossed from staring at the screen.

It doesn't help that the AC is still busted in the library. It's not going to be pretty when it gets really hot. I'm going to be sweating like a ____________________. You fill in the blank!

We won third place at trivia tonight and we had to work our brains for that!

Please leave me comments here on the blog. I love seeing them here on the page and then it looks like somebody is actually reading this :)

I'm copying my cousin Candy. On her blog she asked if there were any questions people would like her to answer. Feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer truthfully!

“Anyone can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the number of apples in a seed.” - Robert H. Schuller

After hours of waiting, my new iPad was finally delivered! Now I just have to reload EVERYTHING...aaaarggghhh!

Today I paid the electric bill and renewed the tags for my car. I also did the overdue and fines poster board. That's about all I accomplished, other than cooking dinner!

We also went for a little walk around the neighborhood.

Today for lunch: leftover beef veggie soup and chicken cordon bleu casserole. I also had cucumbers and tomatoes in some ranch dressing.
Tonight for dinner: Chicken Alfredo with a side of polish sausage, onions, and mushrooms and a lovely, colorful vegetable medley in a light cheese sauce.
Small Sonic Cherry Slush $1.32

Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten. - B. F. Skinner

I am not happy with FedEx today.

My iPad was shipped and delivery attempted today. Nobody calls. Nobody sends me an email asking if I'm going to be home.

Do they realize that most people work during the day. Of course I wasn't home at 10:30 am. I call.

The female I spoke with suggested that I go to the FedEx location on Appling (not nearby) AFTER 6pm and I could retrieve my package. Seriously? She told me there was nothing she could do for me. I could either take off work and get my package or go to the package center after 6pm. Nothing she could do? I ask to speak to somebody else, she put me on hold "forever" and I hung up.

Why can't they deliver it to where I work? They say a change in location must be authorized by the sender. The sender is APPLE. They don't even know who I am.

I have to contact a friend who's mom works for FedEx. She's awesome. I don't know and don't care what she did, but they will be delivering it between 3 and 5pm tomorrow. That I can handle.

Why do they have to make things so difficult? It's not like they get to keep my package if they can't deliver it, do they?

What would you have done?

If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day, so I never have to live without you.

Today is Blaine's birthday. I have never written him a birthday "poem." I don't know why. I love him more than anybody. Why can't I be inspired to write him one?

I always think about the Winnie the Pooh quote when I think about how old we are. I don't want to know what it's like to live without him. I know I would survive. Many of my family members have lived through it. We're made of stout stuff. I just don't want to find out if I'm that strong.

Here are our pictures from the zoo and my tomatoes:
Our nephew, Block. He was so thrilled I was taking his picture!

Blaine's a little more used to my crazy requests!

How awesome do these look?!?!?!?

My parents used to take me to the pet department and tell me it was a zoo. Billy Connolly

Our nephew, Block, came over today. He helped changed the oil on our riding lawn mower.

After they were done, we took a trip to the zoo. It was a beautiful day. Not too hot, not too cold. We ended our day with a trip to Gus's Fried Chicken. It was a great day.

When we got home, Block left to go home and I took a nap! Ahhh perfection. Now I need to go downstairs and clean the kitchen.

Tomorrow is Blaine's birthday.  Hopefully it will be another beautiful day!

Today's food:
Breakfast at Denny's $20 (Horrible service! Arghhh!)
Popcorn and Icee at the Zoo $8 (Little boy walked up to me, asked what I was eating and then asked if he could have some, cracked me up. He looked like the little boy from Up!)
Gus's Fried Chicken for Three People $33 (Brought home a to-go box for a late-night snack!)

Short Shorts and Halter Tops

TGIF!! Seriously! 5 more weeks of school and we'll be doing summer hard core! Today was one of those days. I didn't do anything crazy, but I'm seriously worn out.

Maybe it has something to do with the weather. Maybe it's the fact that the air conditioner in the library is broken. It probably won't be fixed until August :( Big girls and hot weather just don't mix. I'm going to have to invest in some short shorts and tube tops. Standard librarian attire!

Today for lunch I made a wunnerful salad. It was totally scrumptious! Blaine had homemade beef vegetable soup.

For dinner we share Chicken Fajitas and Margarita Dip at Margarita's for $22 (that's food, drink, tax and tip!) Blaine wanted to celebrate the holiday (FRIDAY!!!)

For a late night snack we shared a piece of fish with coleslaw and mac&cheese from Capt D's for $5.55

It's been cold and rainy this evening. I'm going to sleep well tonight!

If you're not barefoot, you're overdressed!

Five weeks from tomorrow will be our last contract day for the 2011-2012 school year. This will be one of my busiest summers in a long time. I'm looking forward to every single day! I'm taking a trip with my sister and another with my Aunt Liv! It's going to be a summer for the record books!

I'm officially old. I now use reading glasses for paper reading. If I'm on the computer I just use ctrl+ to make the letters bigger.

I also had my first heart "scare." I wasn't sleeping well Monday night. About 2:30 am I realized my chest was hurting and it hurt all the way through to my back. Freaked me out!

I woke Blaine up. He asked if I wanted him to take me to the hospital. I said no and calmed down a little but still couldn't sleep.

I decided not to go to work because I'd only had about three hours sleep. I finally took a nap at 2 pm. I haven't been that scared since I had a tumor in my neck.

I'm not liking this getting old business.

“Many doctors pay their grocery bill with the money of folks who have eaten too much” - unknown

This past Sunday will now be known as the Great Grocery Day. I spent oodles of money. I had over $70 in coupons. I hadn't been "major" grocery shopping since before Spring Break.

I try to go every 1-2 weeks. I haven't gone this long in a lonnnnng time! As a result of the oodles of money I spent. I'm trying to keep up with what and when we eat. I also want to track our supplemental spending.

Before I get started, I'm happy to report we won first place at trivia! AWESOME!

So here we go:

Sunday, after FOUR hours of shopping at Wal-Mart and Kroger, I finally returned. I put up most everything. After trivia we shared a Zatarain's Blackened Chicken Alfredo and Blaine had a Roast Beef Sandwich.

Monday: For lunch a couple of cans of soup. After school, we stopped by Wal-Mart and bought the tomatoes I forgot, pico de gallo, chopped purple onions, and a loaf of bread (~$8)
Taco Night!

Tuesday: I was home sick. I had Collard Greens and beef vegetable soup. Blaine had a can of soup at school for lunch. I made a crock pot full of beef vegetable soup and froze FIVE containers.
For dinner Blaine used a coupon and got five pieces of chicken, two individual sides of mashed potatoes, two biscuits, and a medium tea for ~$8. I cooked black-eyed peas, sliced tomatoes, cooked green beans, and mixed up some cornbread!

Wednesday: Lunch leftover taco salad fixin's with some roast beef for a salad and leftover chicken and mashed potatoes for lunch.

Blaine had dinnner from Big Star and I ate at Colton's with the Girls. (~$15)

After Trivia I had a can of light Progresso Clam Chowder.

Pictures :)

If God had intended me to make excuses for who I am, He would have given me better excuses. ~Robert Brault

I downloaded all these pictures and loaded them through blogger. I can't get a single one to load. Maybe blogger is mad at me because it's been over a month since I posted.

Oh well, no excuses. I just haven't felt like blogging.

Lots of things have been going on:

*Spring Break in Destin
*I got a perm
*Went to the horse races in Hot Springs for the very first time
*Tried making The Pioneer Woman's Chicken Parmigiana. I've discovered I detest Parmesan cheese. It smells like stinky feet and vomit. Needless to say I did not enjoy the recipe.
*I put together a raised garden bed in the back yard. I'm attempting to grow cabbages, squash, cucumbers, onions, garlic, and horseradish.
*Once again I have my "pot" garden on the front porch. I have loads of tomatoes, basil, rosemary, parsley, and a bell pepper that I accidentally bought, yuck!
*I'm stoked about this summer! Las Vegas, Charleston, and Flagstaff!!! Oh yeah, the Family Reunion!!!!
*The New Orleans trip was canceled due to a lack of funding, bummer :(

I'll be back tomorrow. I'll try once again to amaze you with some photos!

I'm also going to start blogging about our meals. Sunday was the great grocery shopping adventure and I want to document everything I cook until my next major grocery trip!

What's been going on with y'all?

Oh yeah, my fill appointment was rescheduled for MAY! yuck! I actually gained TEN pounds, what the crap! I've since lost seven of that ten and I'm working on more!

Less than six weeks of school left, whew!
