“I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be.” - Douglas Adams

When I was in high school my GT class buried a time capsule. As far as I know, it's still buried.

I remember that we wrote what we thought we'd be doing when we grew up. I am nowhere near what I thought I'd be.

I thought I'd be working in advertising in the big city. I thought I'd have kids. I NEVER imagined I'd be living in West Memphis as a librarian that loves growing tomatoes. I believe my Mom would be shocked about the tomatoes! Blaine was never the man I saw myself married too. He's the man I'm meant to be with for the rest of my life. He's my other half. I know it's sappy, but it's true.

My life is good and I thank God for that. It is so much better than I could have ever imagined.

If I even try to imagine where I'll be in 25 years, I'm sure I'll be way off!

In 25 years I'll be 67 years old. I hope I'll be drawing my Social Security (if there's any left!) Blaine and I will hopefully be living some place else. If Blaine has his wish, it'll be some place near the ocean.

I just want us both to be happy and healthy.

Where did you think you'd be 25 years after graduation? Where do you think you'll be in 25 years?

I'd hit you in the butt with a stick, but I'm afraid I'll cause brain damage! (Blaine quoting a movie he can't remember)

I love Blaine. Our life isn't perfect (I know you're shocked!)

There are days we fuss and fight (that's normal!)

I love and like him more today than I did when we got married. He makes me laugh. He puts up with my craziness.

I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him!

Today we just went running around town.

Lunch was at Humdinger's. I had a coupon for Buy One Entree Get One Free.

After we ate, we watched Prometheus. Blaine really liked it. I'm not big on people getting eaten movies.

We went to a book store to see how many of my old books they would buy. We got new books, didn't have to give any money, AND we have credit left!

The front flower beds are still a work in progress. We headed to Home Depot and got 12 more bricks for our project. We plan on having it finished by Saturday! I also bought some flower seeds, and a hand tiller too!

We ended the night with a trip to Lenny's with a BOGO coupon. Blaine got a sandwich and I got a salad! We headed to China Kitchen and got some Hot and Sour and Wonton Soup.

Since being banded soup is my friend. When all else fails I can eat soup.

I haven't lost any weight in quite some time. It's my fault, not the bands. I don't do daily walks like I should. I eat cheetos and cupcakes. I drink sweet tea and fruit punch.

Am I surprised? No!

I've always done well at the beginning of any diet and then fell off the wagon. I know this isn't a diet, this is a life change. I'm still good with the weight I've managed to lose and keep off. 70-75 pounds (I bounce around a little) is a big deal.

My knee and hip don't' hurt anything like they did pre-surgery. I just feel better in general.

Would I do the surgery again? yes! Would I have considered the gastric sleeve a little longer? yes. I know several people who've done the gastric sleeve. They've had great results and don't have near the maintenance that I do with the band.

Ask me again in a few years, we'll see if my answer changes.

Cleaning out the fridge.

I don't know about you, but before we go on a trip, I begin cleaning out our fridge. I start cooking and quit going to the store. Trying to get rid of as much stuff as I possible can.

Today I made "Clean Out the Fridge"
Bag of purple Hull peas (I was supposed to take these to my sister and forgot them!)
Polish Sausage
Country Ham
Chopped Onion
Half Jar of Picante Salsa
Can of fire roasted tomato chunks
1 cup minute rice
Cajun Seasoning
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Water
Boil and simmer until it's all gone!

Topped it all off with some Cornbread Flower Muffins! We had enough to share with Blaine's parents.

Since I'm cleaning out the fridge, I decided to clean off my desktop. Here are pictures that didn't make it to earlier posts!
Check out Flight on Main Street! You can get small portions and try several different things instead of committing to one large entree.

Margarita's celebrated their 10th birthday and I got a free t-shirt!

Blaine loves the pizza at Large Mouth Pizza in Greers Ferry!

He was so excited to be eating there again!

We went to the local farmers market and these were being handed out. What a wonderful way to share God's love.

I made cucumber salad for our family reunion!

Loving the Orpheum. Maybe I'll get season tickets for Christmas!

Chicken and Waffles with a side of Abba!

Sunday, Blaine and I celebrated our sixth anniversary. We celebrated by going to see Mamma Mia at the Orpheum. Blaine suggested months ago that we buy the tickets and we were lucky enough to get FRONT ROW seats!
Before the show we went for a drink and appetizers at The Majestic Grille. I asked the bartender to make me something fruity that didn't have a lot of alcohol. He said this is called an Island Cooler. I really liked it!
This is how close we were to the stage. I could see all the musicians and the mics on the actors heads. It was awesome! I sang, I laughed, I cried. It was just wonderful!
I sat next to this awesome couple of guys. I do believe Marc and I were separated at birth. If I didn't have Blaine I so would have given him my name and number and would have asked him to be my new BFF.
After the show, we walked down main street to Flight. As we were waiting for our food, we watched all the actors from the show walk by to their hotel. It was really cool! We ate a small plate of Chicken and Waffles and Pork Tenderloin. Very good! We plan on going back here!

This coming Friday night is the Grease Sing-a-Long. I'm going to be there! Who's coming????

Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears. - John Lennon

Mandy, please don't hate me for posting this picture :D You're one of the greatest friends I have. We've been through so much and I couldn't do a post about friends without having you on here!
I have been blessed throughout the years to have many friends. Some come, some go, but most are friends forever. Thanks for being there for me!

More of my friends. Saturday night we got together to support Mo Alexander. He's our friend and he's a comedian. He was taping a new comedy CD.

We were at a TINY club called the The Buccaneer. Couldn't really see what this painting was until the flash hit it! wow!

Mo doing what he does best, making us laugh!

I'd tell you what he was saying, but I don't use that word! I call this my "Seriously?" look

Blinded by the flash! Sorry Mo!
You can find all things Mo at Slap the Stupid. Please be warned, if you are easily offended do not click or hold me responsible for the content :D Consider yourself warned!

A tree is known by it's fruit. (proverb) I think our tree may be full of nuts. (Robin)

I never saw a hat for a steer! How stylish!

Hangin' out at my cousin's horse arena.

Blaine had a blast petting the animals.

We enjoyed "hazing" the steers and yelling "HEY! HEY! HEY!"

JR was aiming for their hind legs.

Joe Paul was aiming for the horns.

Blaine getting up on a horse for the first time since he was five!

Had a great time!

Saturday morning we went to my dad's side family reunion.

Isn't she a sweetie pie?

Dad and me

Definitely nuts!

Getting nuttier!

Head nuts!
