Deja View

I find myself at Old Man River, watching another sunset with Blaine by my side. Just something about watching the sun slowly glide behind the trees lining the banks of the ambling water.

It makes me think of that old church song, "When peace like a river attendeth my way...." it ends "It is well with my soul."

  2. The writer, Horatio Spafford, wrote the hymn as he passed by the place in the ocean where his four young daughters had drowned when the ocean liner they were traveling on sank. He was traveling to meet his wife who was rescued and was in Great Britain. Right before this, they had also lost their son and experienced the Great Chicago Fire. "When sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, 'It is well, it is well, with my soul.'"
